Very atmospheric image. I love the framing around the top by the branches of the trees. The side view of this building (school?) gives the building and the image itself depth. The sky is very nice, as though a polarizer has been used and so smooth (Neat?). Lovely crisp sunlight. Personally I don't like the way that branch is cutting into the bell tower, which could be removed with these Worth1000 Pro rules. This image means schools out in the wintertime to me, there are no children and no leaves on the trees. School without children is a strange place and when you visit a school when children are not there you can nearly hear the sounds they make, as though the walls record those sounds and play them back, as an echo. When I look at this image it reminds me of this very much. Beautiful, tranquil image. Thank you for sharing.

When I first saw your choices, I liked the middle one the best....but on further review, I think you made the right choice. It has more interest than the others. I like the bench one...The pillars show the way in and the sidewalk the way out. I feel like I'm on the bench in between...but I do want to see what is beyond those pillars. Good shots.

I fancy the second one best. The leading lines are great. I do like the framing in the first one with those branches, and the lonesome bench in the last one. Overall a very impressive choice to have. Nice one.

I think I really like the second best.
I like the lines in the grass which are leading to the building.
I also like the sky a lot.

Nick, your B&W treatment looks wonderful. This is just the way I remember darkroom prints looking. My Dad used to shoot Ilford film in 35mm and medium format and the tonality you are getting here brings me right back to the moment when those magical images used to appear in the developing tray. Wonderful stuff. I really hope days 14,15 and 16 are just waiting to be uploaded :-)
